The Forest village Turturiya Situated on the bank of a spring called Turturiya or Sursuri Ganga contains numerous buddhist remains of 8th Century A.D. and the Brahmanical remains of later period.

The site yielded numerous exquisitely sculptured pillars, remains of STUPA made of fine bricks, traces of bathing Ghats, Lingams figures of four armed Vishnu, Ganesha, a man hunting a lion with sword and a man wrestling with an animal. There are numerous heaps of ruins all of bricks, picked with stone. The place is of a great archaeological and anthropological interest.

This is where Mahanadi River originates and flows through the state of Chhattisgarh before finding its way to the Bay of Bengal. Raipur is bestowed with monuments and ancient traditions that are of national, historical and anthropological significance. Among various tourist attractions in Raipur, Turturiya Springs, Raipur is worth visiting.

There are numerous heaps of ruins all of bricks, picked with stone. The place is of a great archaeological and anthropological interest. Turturiya Springs in Raipur is also good for organizing picnics and excursions. It is surely one of the most attractive springs and waterfalls in Raipur.

Buddhism had made its way into the interiors of Raipur, Chhattisgarh, that leaves every travelers spellbound. The remains of its presence can be seen at the forest village of Turturiya where sculptured pillars, stupas and bathing ghats can be seen. Turturiya Springs in Raipur, India is one of the charming natural springs in Raipur. Apart from its natural beauty it is also visited for its historical significance.

Reaching Turturiya Springs, Raipur is very convenient as Turturiya is 29 Km from Baloda bazar and 24 Km from Sirpur which is again 84 Km and 78 Km from Raipur, the capital city of Chhattisgarh. P.W.D. Rest Houses are offered at Sirpur and Balodabazar, the reservation authorities are S.D.O. P.W.D (B & R) Sirpur and Balodabazar respectively.

"Another thing is that I have read the pamphlet on the Golden Jubilee festival in which you have described very nicely about Swami Bon Maharaja in the matter of his preaching work in Europe more than 35 years ago, but you have not mentioned anything about my humble service right now going on in the Western world. There are hundreds of letters of appreciation, including some from you also, but you have not mentioned even a single line about me in the pamphlet. Why?? "
