Navagraha

January Navagraha Yagyas - 1/17 through 1/26 - $51

As is our tradition, the focus of the January yagya series will be on the nine planets (Navagraha).  Seetharam and our priests will be traveling to nine different planetary temples in the Kanchipuram area to perform these special yagyas.  This series has always been a great way to start the year
and is especially important this year because Jupiter, Saturn, and Rahu/Ketu are all changing signs.

Rig Veda Pavamana Soma Yagya Series - Wed. 1/26 - $21

In December we offered for the first time, the Pavamana Soma Yagya.  It was very successful with many participants reporting strong experiences of mental clarity, deep silence, and stability.  Based on this success, we have added this yagya to our monthly program of group yagyas and will again offer a 10 day program of Pavamana Soma Yagyas in December 2011.

Greetings Yagya Friends,

June is an important month for us with a major lunar eclipse on June 15th.  This gives us the opportunity for some very powerful and special yagyas.

It is said that any mantra that is repeated during an eclipse has its effect multiplied many times.  To take advantage of this opportunity, we have arranged for 27 uniquely qualified pundits to perform a series of special pujas and extensive mantra repetitions on the banks of the sacred Ganges River in at our Varanasi yagya facility (photo above right).  They will be working on our behalf during the eclipse from 10:53 PM on the 15th through 4:32 AM on the 16th.

As you may have noticed, Shiva wears the crescent Moon in his hair, so our focus during this lunar eclipse will be on Shiva and a special Shiva mantra called Mrytunjaya which comes from the Rig and Yajur Vedas.

The Mrytunjaya Mantra has many different effects; supporting health, removing fear, and accelerating progress towards enlightenment.  It is a very peaceful and settling mantra that is also a great antidote to the difficult effects of Saturn.

You can participate in the entire monthly program or any part of it by clicking here.

After the eclipse yagya, we continue with the Mrytunjaya and Shiva Yagyas.  Each day will begin with a complete recitation of the Sri Rudram and Chamakam, the primary yagya mantras from the Rig and Yajur Vedas.  Additional rituals and extended Mrytunjaya mantra repetitions will be performed with the goal of 108,000 repetitions by the conclusion of the complete 10 day program.

The yagya series will conclude with three days of temple yagyas.  The first will be for Mrytunjayeshwara - the form of Shiva who personifies the Mrytunjaya Mantra.  It will be performed at a beautiful temple in Kanchipuram built 1,500 years ago especially for this form of Shiva.

The second temple yagya will be for the nine planets (Navagraha) which will be soothing and cooling after the eclipse.

The final day will feature the performance of the Pavamana Soma Yagya because Soma and the Moon are so closely connected.

GuruPoornima

Greetings Yagya Friends,

The first Full Moon after the summer solstice is Guru Poornima; the special time of year when the universal principle of the "guru" is closest - whether it finds expression in the form of an individual teacher, or as our own thirst for knowledge and liberation.  Yagyas performed at this time magnify this principle in our lives.

This month our yagyas will focus on Shiva in the form of Dakshinamurti; the first teacher who passes along knowledge and gives enlightenment.  We also perform yagyas for Saraswati who is the embodiment of wisdom, and for Veda Vyasa, the rishi who organized the Vedas; the source of spiritual and practical knowledge.

We have an amazing 10 day program that features two special Guru Poornima Yagyas; one in Kanchipuram and one in Shiva's city; Varanasi.  These are followed by nine days of  Shiva/Saraswati yagyas including two temple yagyas.

vedas

During each of the 10 days, an additional team of priests will be reciting the entire text of the Rig, Sama, and Yajur Vedas in Rameshwaram home to one of the most spectacular temples in India, and an important spiritual center.  Our program concludes in Rameshwaram with a special Shiva yagya on the last day.

There are 3 ways to participate; all 10 Days of Guru Yagyas ($51 for the entire family), just the Guru Poornima puja ($11) or all 10 days plus the Pavamana Soma yagya and 30 days of daily yagyas ($108). Your choice!
