ISKCON Melbourne, AU: Live Audio Video in Vrindavana
Deena Bandhu Prabhu has kindly gifted us with a priceless jewel. He writes:
"My dear Devotees
Please accept my humble obeisances _/ò_. All glories to Srila Prabhupada
For those of you not aware yet, Vrindavan ISKCON now has a live audio video website. Now you can watch the very sweet Mangala Aratika, or Sringara Darshan, and other transcendental darshans in Vrindavan from wherever you are in the World! Especially if you live far from a temple, or in a small temple where not many senior devotees pass through, here you can hear the classes of the many senior devotees who are always passing through Vrindavan.
And surprising for Vrindavan, it is working quite nicely with very little down time! "

ISKCON Melbourne, AU: Today's Darsana
Srila Krsnadasa Kaviraja Thakura shares with us, in his Sri Caitanya Caritamrta, how:
"Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s state of mind, day and night, was practically identical to Radharani’s state of mind when Uddhava came to Vrndavana to see the gopis.
The Lord constantly exhibited a state of mind reflecting the madness of separation. All His activities were based on forgetfulness, and His talks were always based on madness."
(Madhya 2. 4&5)We pray that we may one day have the eyes to have the darsana of Gaurangadeva's ecstatic symptoms...maybe some of us out there already do. In the meantime we confidently take darsana of His beautiful golden form on the altar.

Japa Group: He Will Reciprocate
Today I realized the power of just relaxing and allowing the Lord to take control. In materially stressful situations, we tend to come under the lower modes - thinking we are the doer and forgetting that Krsna i the controller.
By serious and proper chanting of the Hare Krsna mantra, we can remember the Lord in all situations - good or bad. When He sees we are serious and sincere about chanting His Holy names, He will reciprocate and make arrangements for our spiritual advancement.• Email to a friend • •
Ananda Subramanian, Iowa, USA: Birthday recipes
Parotta kurma
Blueberry Orange Bundt Cake
I made blueberry orange bundt cake for my wife on her birthday. I took the recipe from here. In the recipe I substituted eggs with egg replacer and also milk with orange juice (1 cup). I made a blueberry glaze by simply adding few bluberries, sugar (half cup), half cup water and table spoon corn starch. Heat them all together in low to medium heat and you will get the glaze.
I also made Parotta and kurma. It is a south indian delicacy found on road side shops. I took the recipe from here for parotta and here for kurma.

Bhakta Chris, New York, USA: The Intersection-The Unity Within
Our relativistic spheres of morality can prevent us from understanding the dichotomies that lie within the ground of our being. Our good intentions can go astray when they are mixed with the unclean and immature viewpoint in which we base them in. The ranting preacher in the Union Square subway in New York City or the Hezbollah suicide bomber in Tel Aviv may think they are on the right side of history, the right side of divine reality, but one with a thorough understanding set in the depths of the bonafide spiritual sciences will see the clear deficiencies in each approach.
Our good intentions to create a more just reality certainly are not likely to fall into these extremities, but our impact may end up being just as void. How do we know we are getting the message across in the proper way? How do we even know we have the right message? We get one idea from the results of our application, in seeing what hits people hearts and minds. Even then, we may not let go of our misconceived ideas.
Our intentions lay bare on the altar of our being, and we worship them without the slightest understanding of what they actually represent, and how we represent them. We need an inner guidance, best represented in a spiritual authority or personality interacting with us, to examine exactly what we mean and what we mean by it. Any genuine, time-tested, experience-tested spiritual discipline will give us this acute opportunity for examination.
The only question that remains is our desire to do so and our courage to make the commitment. Are we able to examine our intentions for what they are and what they create in a constant, discerning, and piercing manner. Merton writes:
“One must face the fact that 'good intentions' are only as good as long as they are faithfully re-examined in the light of new knowledge, and in the light of their fruits.
More and more we see how in reality the 'good,' 'kind,' 'humane,' and 'loving' intention bears fruit in real evil, cruelty, inhumanity, and hate. The experience of each day makes this more and more clear.
The ethic of subjective 'good intentions' has been judged and found wanting. We must refocus on the objective results of our decisions!”1
This means we must learn the art of mature and exacting responsibility. This was the key motivation for my own choice to live as a monk in the bhakti-yoga tradition of the Vedas. My initial experiences with devotees of this tradition showed me a deeper potential to life itself, and to the potential power of my own ability to help exact and create a solution to the suffering I saw all around me. The discovery of the depth of this experience continues on a daily basis for me, and it begins with an increasing sense of my own developing and maturing responsibility to care for myself so that I may learn to really care for others.
This care must be entirely motivated to bring myself and others closer to the love of God. Otherwise, if it remains simply in the material realms of the political, moral, economical, and altruistic it will create only a temporary relief, much like blowing air on a burn only removes the pain for a short while. The pain is our disconnection from God, which has thrown our application of reality into a whirlpool.
Responsibility is inherently a moral consideration, and moral considerations are inherently concerns originating from the loving will of God in our lives. The realm of social justice must take a step forward to meet once again the objective moral realm of God to fulfill its real purposes and desires.
Merton writes:
“There is an objective moral good, a good which corresponds to the real value of being, which brings out and confirms the inner significance of our life when we obey its norms. Such an act integrates us into the whole living movement and development of the cosmos, it brings us into harmony with all the rest of the world, it situates us into our place, it helps us fulfill our task and to participate fruitfully in the whole world's work and its history. In a word, it is an act of obedience to God.”2
Where our striving for justice fails is in the lack of inner integration of our being to the will and the love of God. We become reliant on our dull, imperfect senses, on our illusory, textbook concepts of history, on our own muddled subjectivity to solve problems quite beyond us. We cannot look to the speculations of our society's so-called pundits and scholars to show us the brighter path. We have to look towards the source of morality, the source of goodness, the source of justice Himself, God Himself.
We hold tight to God's will and love, and we can become steady to fight today for what we truly believe in. Merton writes:
“In times like ours, it is more than ever necessary for the individual to train himself, or be trained, according to objective norms of good, and learn to distinguish these from the purely pragmatic norms current in his society...We cannot trust our society to tell us the difference.
Everything is confused, and the men of our time blindly follow now God and now Satan, blown this way and that by every changing wind of urgency and opportunity, judging only by what seem to them to be the immediate consequences.
We must recover our inner faith not only in God but in the good, in reality, and in the power of the good to take care of itself and us as well, if only we attend to it, observe, listen, choose, and obey.”3
If we are looking for a lynchpin to unify ourselves in the face of an immense, weaponized, and demonic evil that is strangling our humanity, we cannot ignore our unity in God, and we cannot ignore the protection and empowerment that He is constantly giving us. This is a tremendous challenge to find this unity, for even amidst the sincere seekers of justice and truth, too often sectarian concerns of religious, political, and social concerns drive a deep wedge that is very difficult to remove from the consciousness.
How can love of God bring it all together? For one thing, love of God belongs to no group in particular but to each and everyone of us. The core of our being, the core of our soul, revels and thrives in the love of God. Everyone has this ability, and there are many applications to bring it out to our conscious, waking awareness.
Only if we dive deeply into our particular application, transcending all sense of distance and separation from our real self, from the real selves of others, and from God do we find this unity. Not only that, but we also find the ability to help others understand this ultimate unity in the love of God. The love of God has the power to overcome all evils, to correct all injustices. To find the love of God in ourselves and to give it to others, freeing us totally on the spiritual and material platforms, is the greatest act of social justice.

Subhavilasa das ACBSP, Toronto, CA: Gauranga! Nityananda! The appearance day of Srila Vrindavana Das Thakur.
Today is the appearance day of Srila Vrindavana Das Thakur and we are borrowing from an April blog post on www.Radha Shyamasundar.com in a humble attempt to glorify this great personality.Jaya Srila Vrindavana Das Thakur! On this day the only uncertainty should be if we should chant the name of Gauranga more or Nityananda more but what is certain is the glorification of Srila Vrindavana Das Thakur is a must, not only as a pure devotee of Gaur-Nitai but also the embodiment of Gaura Prema.
In the Caitanya Caritamrta Adi-lila 11.55 is states:
bhagavate krishna-lila varnila vedavyasa
caitanya-lilate vyasa -- vrindavana dasa
Srila Vyasadeva described the pastimes of Krishna in Srimad-Bhagavatam. The Vyasa of the pastimes of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu was Vrindavana dasa.
The purport states:
Srila Vrindavana dasa Thakura was an incarnation of Vedavyasa and also a friendly cowherd boy named Kusumapida in krishna-lila. In other words, the author of Sri Caitanya-bhagavata, Srila Vrindavana dasa Thakura, the son of Srivasa Thakura's niece Narayani, was a combined incarnation of Vedavyasa and the cowherd boy Kusumapida. There is a descriptive statement by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura in his commentary on Sri Caitanya-bhagavata giving the biographical details of the life of Vrindavana dasa Thakura.
Srila Vrindavana das Thakur was the most dear devotee and disciple of Lord Nityananda and was one of the last if not last disciples of Lord Nityananda.
Srila Vrindavana das Thakur's glories can go on and on but one of my favorite glories is his staunch stance on Vaishnava apradha! Something we unfortunately still see all too often. He states:
eta parihare-o je papi ninda kare
tabe lathi maron tar shirera upare
Even after being told how objectionable it is, if someone still blasphemes the Vaishnavas then I will kick him in the head.
Can it be said any stronger?
On this day I am unqualified to adequately glorify Srila Vrindavan das Thakur so I will turn to the words of Srila Krishna Dasa Kaviraja Goswami.
O fools, just read Sri Caitanya-mangala! By reading this book you can understand all the glories of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
As Vyasadeva has compiled all the pastimes of Lord Krishna in Srimad-Bhagavatam, Thakura Vrindavana dasa has depicted the pastimes of Lord Caitanya.
Thakura Vrindavana dasa has composed Sri Caitanya-mangala. Hearing this book annihilates all misfortune.
By reading Sri Caitanya-mangala one can understand all the glories and truths of Lord Caitanya and Nityananda and come to the ultimate conclusion of devotional service to Lord Krishna.
In Sri Caitanya-mangala [later known as Sri Caitanya-bhagavata] Srila Vrindavana dasa Thakura has given the conclusion and essence of devotional service by quoting the authoritative statements of Srimad-Bhagavatam.
If even a great atheist hears Sri Caitanya-mangala, he immediately becomes a great devotee.
The subject matter of this book is so sublime that it appears that Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu has personally spoken through the writings of Sri Vrindavana dasa Thakura.
I offer millions of obeisances unto the lotus feet of Vrindavana dasa Thakura. No one else could write such a wonderful book for the deliverance of all fallen souls.
~ Caitanya Caritamrta Adi-lila 8.33 to 40
And with that I offer my humble obeisances to Srila Vrindavana dasa Thakura and thank my guru Srila Prabhupada for delivering this treasure. Thank you for the oppurtunity to glorify Srila Vrindavana dasa Thakura!
Gauranga! Gauranga!
Nityananda! Nityananda!
Subhavilasa das ACBSP, Toronto, CA: ¡Gauranga! ¡Nityananda!
tabe lathi maron tar shirera upare
¡Gauranga! ¡Gauranga! ¡Nityananda! ¡Nityananda!

Toronto Sankirtan Team, CA: Memories from 2 years ago
Right around Bloor and Spadina, I saw a girl pass by and somehow, I have no idea how, I remembered her face and said hi as if I knew her. She remembered me right away and started to talk about a meditation event we had organised at UofT two years ago with Devamrita Swami. She was on her way back from a job interview and we chatted a little and I started to realise that she had clear memory of the event as she started to describe Maharaj’s speaking style and his comments. As she was so deeply reminiscing that event, I invited her upstairs so I could show her some books and she came along. As we started to talk upstairs she really started to remember the prashad and her conversation with Maharaj and said several times how she wanted to meet him again. She took 2 books and I started to realise that even a moment’s association with Krishna’s devotees leaves a permanent impression in the heart. Otherwise material world is an atmosphere of forgetfulness, it is hard to remember things from yesterday let alone remember exact details of an event from 2 years ago. I pray this time she takes her Krishna consciousness seriously and comes to see us.• Email to a friend • •

Toronto Sankirtan Team, CA: Ambassadors of good will
I met a girl near Urbanedgeyoga and upon first inquiry she didn’t seem much interested in yoga but the meditation intrigued her. As I talked more, she asked me if we were Hare Krishnas. I said yes and asked her how she knew about us. She explained to me she was from Kazakhstan and her friend was living on the Hare Krishna farm. So I was all excited and invited her upstairs and we had a quiet chat. She had read parts of the Bhagavad Gita so I showed her the Krishna book. She really admired the pictures and started to recall her time in the Kazakhstan farm community, she said that was the most calm she has felt and the best time she had had. She left taking the Krishna book and said she would write to her friend about our meeting.
As Vaisesika Prabhu said we are going out there to make friends – ambassadors of good will. Due to nice association with the devotees in Kazakhstan farm, and her appreciation for them (agyata sukriti) she could now come in touch with Krishna book and by donating for the Krishna book she became a participant in the Sankirtan Yagya.
It is a moment to remember the turmoil our Kazakhstan farm community devotees have been through and appreciate even more the fruits of their outreach efforts:
The Kazakhstan government destroyed 26 homes of Hindu practitioners of the community. Their land plots were confiscated. The owners of the destroyed houses were left homeless and never offered compensation or humanitarian aid. All of the land plots have been resold by the Kazakh government.
The Kazakh government also confiscated the 47.7 hectares (116 acres) legally registered property of the Krishna Society. This is the property where the only Krishna Temple in Kazakhstan exists. The claim for the confiscation is forgery but this point has never been proved in court. In both cases there are more than 40 examples of violation of due process and rule of law.

H.H. Satsvarupa das Goswami (Ret.): 325–Poem for May 29th
4:29 A.M.
A Writer of Pieces
New format–I will begin with a poem written on the day of its printing. Then I will print random excerpts of books I have printed over the last 35 years. I hope this variety will be pleasing.Poem for May 29th
Wasn’t even absolutely certain
you did sixteen rounds but you gave
yourself the benefit of the doubt.
Strain on the eyes and racing
by the clock, you did what you
could pumping mantras in your mind.Narayana read at lunch Krishna’s
pastimes out of Vrndavana. Mention
of all the demon kings killed by Krishna
or Baladeva or Mucukunda or someone
else. The Lord sometimes likes to give
credit to His devotees as when He played
Ranacora and fled from the battlefield
before the Yavana king and led him
to a cave where he stumbled upon
Mucukunda and was annihilated being
burnt to ashes by the man’s glaring
glance. It was all an arrangement
by the Lord.
Yesterday was Ekadasi and Narayana
read to us while we honored
Baladeva’s special menu
without grains and tapioca
and macaroon cookies for dessert.
In the afternoon Baladeva
went for bhajanas at Saratoga
and Narayana went on the
walk with me and did
my evening program,
putting me to bed.The poem rides on rails.
Narayana appreciates them, I’ve
been reading to him at 10:00 A.M.
my collection and he reads
to me the ones he’s done which
I like about chanting the
name of Krishna preferable over
all the many names of God
and another mentioning our
sharing readings. When
we walked I got tired
after one lap and he
let me quit, saying,
“One shouldn’t push
the body.” We know
saying harinama consciously is the most
important act of the day
and we try to steer but
speed through it without
savoring. We compared
notes on that and concurred. He is a
good chanter enunciating
the rounds slowly at first
until he gets them
right.A quiet ashrama is
an ideal place for
meditation uninterrupted bhajana.
We don’t go
out for the social gatherings but stay at home,
carefully counting and paying attentionto what we do.

H.H. Satsvarupa das Goswami (Ret.): OLD FRIENDS
From Vandanam: A Krishna Conscious Handbook on Prayer
“Favorite Prayers
“There are thousands of ‘favorite’ slokas in the Srimad Bhagavatam and other Vedic literatures. The selection in this chapter is some of the verses that specifically give me an impetus for prayer.“The Time of Death
“‘Let this temporary body be burnt to ashes and let the air of life be merged with the totality of air. Now, O my Lord, please remember all my sacrifices, and since You are the ultimate beneficiary, please remember all that I have done for You.
“‘O my Lord, as powerful as fire, O omnipotent one, now I offer You all obeisances, falling on the ground at Your feet. O Lord, please lead me on the right path to reach You, and since You know all that I have done in the past, please free me from the reactions to my past sins so that there wil be no hindrance to my progress.’ (Isopanisad 17-18)
“Prabhupada writes, ‘This prayer is made at time of death in full consciousness of one’s past deeds and of the ultimate goal.’ This is one particular devotee’s prayer, and yet it is everyone’s prayer.
“The devotee is reminding Krishna, ‘Now that I’m about to die, please remember my devotional service.’ I take it that this is said not in a demanding way but in a friendly spirit between servant and master. And after all, death is a fearful moment. The devotee knows he has done heaps of sinful acts in the past, so he hopes his service will be recalled. Prabhupada remarks that even if the devotee does not remind Krishna, ‘The Lord does not forget the devotional service of His devotee.’
“There is a similar statement by Prabhupada in his purport about Gajendra’s prayers:
“‘Only Krishna can deliver us from this material existence. Indeed, He is always trying to deliver us. Isvara sarva bhutanam hrde arjuna tishtathe: He is within our hearts and is not at all inattentive. His only aim is to deliver us from material life. It is not that He becomes attentive to us only when we offer our prayers to Him. Even before we offer our prayers, he incessantly tries to deliver us. He is never lazy in regard to our deliverance.’ (Bhagavatam 8.3.17)
“I love the language of these two Isopanisad mantras. I can fit into them, enter their spirit and make them my own prayer. Repeatedly the devotee calls on the Lord in a personal way: ‘O my Lord,’ it’s in a tone of awe and reverence, ‘falling on the ground at Your feet,’ but very intense. It’s not just formally offered praise. It is surcharged with the personality of the devotee and his desire for deliverance, but not in a self-centered way. His end has come, and he is ready to surrender; give up the body and life air and go to Krishna, ‘if You will kindly remember me, free me from karma and lead me on the right path to reach You.’ He wants to go back to Godhead, beyond birth and death, and he is crying out helplessly and yet courageously, ‘Please take me, Lord!’ It’s a bit reminiscent of Lord Caitanya’s cry, ‘O Son of Maharaja Nanda [Krishna], I am Your eternal servitor, yet somehow or other I have fallen into the ocean of repeated birth and death. Please pick me up from this ocean of death and place me as one of the atoms at Your lotus feet.’ (Sri Siksastakam, Verse 5)
“When you can enter a sastric prayer like this, then you feel no need to add anything of your own. Your own case is completely stated exactly as you would want to pray, except you don’t have the ability to express yourself. So we are grateful to find slokas like this and make them our own.
“Without the Bhaktivedanta purports, we really couldn’t do this, couldn’t confidently embrace this sloka knowing that Prabhupada is all for it. So the purport is part of the whole, and it elucidates and enlightens the prayer, as when Prabhupada states, ‘The Lord is addressed as fire because He can burn anything into ashes, including the sins of the surrendered soul.’ (Isopanisad 18, purport)

===================================================From Here is Srila Prabhupada
“Message of Godhead was written by Srila Prabhupada in 1955, before he came to America. It remained unpublished until the BBT first printed it in 1990 (200,000 copies). His writing had a different flavor then. There is a certain charm to his handwritten prose that is different than the way his writing came out when he used the Dictaphone. Here is a sample:
“‘In general we are very proud of our two small eyes and puffed up with vanity we are always enthusiastic to see everything with them . . . It is not a fact that we can see everything as it is simply by applying our ocular power to it. Every morning when the sun rises, we see that vast mass of matter as if it were just a small disc. Of course, the sun is much larger than the earth on which we live, and thus on every morning of every day, our selfo-reliant ocular vanity is put to the test and reduced to absurdity.
“‘Because we are always busy in the discharge of worldly duties, generally people do not wish to understand any philosophy except the mundane philosophy of our stomach and allied subjects. We have extended many branches and sub-branches of this philosophy of the belly in various directions, and thus we hardly have any time for understanding the philosophy of gaining eternal life—for which we are perpetually struggling life after life.
“‘This eternal truth is summarized in the Vedas in the aphorism brahma satyam jagan mithya: “Spirit is fact, and the world is a false shadow.” By “false shadow” we should understand that the world is temporary, existing only for the time being. But one should not make the mistake of thinking the world has no existence at all. Wereally possess our temporary material bodies and minds, and we must not make ourselves a laughingstock by denying the existence of our bodies and minds.’
“Message of Godhead is addressed to the world just after World War II:
“‘A Hitler, a Mussolini, or any other leader of that materialistic persuasion may offer his followers the mental concoction of doing good together . . .’ Srila Prabhupada offers stable peace on the solid platform of eternal knowledge. Speaking of India’s responsibility, he wrote, ‘But it would be sheer stupidity if Indian people attempted to do good to others without first themselves attaining transcendental knowledge.’ In Message, I see Srila Prabhupada putting Lord Krishna’s message in his own words. He accepts sastra as absolute truth– and as urgently needed. Mainly Prabhupada insists that knowledge of the self as eternal is the most important knowledge. If people, especially leaders, accept this, it can solve a whole range of worldly problems:
“‘Today, the whole world is mad after the culture of knowledge in relation to temporary arrangements for the gross material body and the subtle material mind. But more important than the body and mind is the spirit, which has been set aside without any proper culture of knowledge. As a result, the darkness of nescience has overshadowed the world and brought about great unrest, disturbance, and distress.
“‘Material scientists have made much advancement all over the world, but regrettably, these advanced scientists have made no attempt to understand the living spark, the spirit, which is always the most important subject. This is their gross ignorance. This is their helplessness.’ (Message of Godhead pp. 23-4)“Srila Prabhupada applies his intelligence, education, humor and whatever he can to argue on Krishna’s behalf. He is always gentlemanly, but strongly convinced in a cool-headed way. This is Krishna conscious writing.”

Book Distribution News: Book distribution in Slovenia
Recently I was in Ljubljana, Slovenia. They have a very nice team of sankirtan devotees dedicated to distributing Srila Prabhupada's books.
I asked one of the sankirtan devotees -- Lamancita Prabhu, the sankirtan leader -- how he joined. He said, "When I was in school my physical education coach started talking to me about Krsna and the philosophy. He gave me some books, and I found them a little interesting. The next year I was surprised that he wasn't working at the school anymore. Soon I finished reading the books he had given me, and finding them even more interesting, I called the temple in Ljubljana to find out more. The person who answered the phone was my former coach! I was so happy to hear his voice. He had joined the temple and was a brahmacari. He preached to me some more, and one year later I also joined."
I asked another sankirtan devotee how he joined, and he told me that before he met the devotees he had been distributing books door to door for twenty years, but the books he was distributing were about the history of Slovenia. One day he received a Lilamrta and a few other books and became convinced that he should dedicate his life to serving Krsna. He still distributes door to door, but the only book he distributes now is "Bhagavad-gita As It Is."
Your servant,
Vijaya das
PS: We have some good news on our fund-raising drive for the Nigerian sankirtan van. Puspagopal Prabhu donated $250, Rupa Manjari dd donated $50, and Dravida Prabhu donated $25. I want to thank these devotees for their kind donations. Now we have a total of $1,400.
I just read this this morning in the SB 1.9.27 purport,"To give charity is one of the householders main functions."

H.H. Devamrita Swami: Deity Farewell
Amidst flower garlands and petals devotedly placed on the water, the four sacks of broken and crushed marble disappeared into the ocean. Watching from the deck of a sailboat that carried Their Lordships out to sea, I thought of the future when They would reappear. Sri Sri Nitai Gaurachandra left our vision during the earthquake that destroyed their temple in February, Christchurch, New Zealand.
The Deity form of the Lord is an incarnation, arca-avatara, appearing and disappearing by His will, and the desires of the devotees. Because we cannot see spirit, Krishna makes His appearance as if He is matter, though He is not stone, metal, or wood. Since everything is His energy, He can make matter into spirit and vice versus—there's no distinction for Him.
Now, during the period before the Deity form will remanifest in a new temple, the community of devotees has the opportunity to reassess their Deity worship, and plan ahead how to improve their offering of seva.
A devotee never thinks he or she has served Krishna enough or best. Real love ever increases in quality and purity.
As the sailboat returned to shore, the small group of devotees aboard carried the arca-vigraha forms of Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityananda in their heart.

ISKCON Melbourne, AU: Daily Class - Srimad Bhagavatam 12.7.15-18 - HG Nartaki Mataji
SB 12.7.15: In each reign of Manu, six types of personalities appear as manifestations of Lord Hari: the ruling Manu, the chief demigods, the sons of Manu, Indra, the great sages and the partial incarnations of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
SB 12.7.16: Dynasties are lines of kings originating with Lord Brahmā and extending continuously through past, present and future. The accounts of such dynasties, especially of their most prominent members, constitute the subject of dynastic history.
SB 12.7.17: There are four types of cosmic annihilation — occasional, elemental, continuous and ultimate — all of which are effected by the inherent potency of the Supreme Lord. Learned scholars have designated this topic dissolution.
SB 12.7.18: Out of ignorance the living being performs material activities and thereby becomes in one sense the cause of the creation, maintenance and destruction of the universe. Some authorities call the living being the personality underlying the material creation, while others say he is the unmanifest self.

ISKCON Melbourne, AU: Today's Darsana
Our Shanta Nrsimhadeva is all smiles today, thanks to the expertise of Gopa Vrndesh Prabhu. Despite His pointed teeth and otherwise angry expression, Lord Nrsimha is all-merciful, as Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura assures us in his 'Sri Navadvipa Bhava Taranga':
"Even though Lord Narasimha is terrifying toward the sinful souls, He offers great auspiciousness unto the devotees of Lord Krsna headed by Prahlada Maharaja. When will He be pleased to speak words of compassion unto me, a worthless fool, and thereby make me fearless?"
Here is the darsana of that all-auspiciousness incarnation of the Lord.
